THE CHALLENGE

The client came to us with a vision to create a mountain retreat that felt authentic and timeless, without sacrificing modern craftsmanship or structural performance.

They Wanted:

  • A home that looked and felt like it had history
  • Materials with real character, not manufactured finishes
  • A design that blended seamlessly with the surrounding landscape

Our Approach

We worked closely with the client and build team to source and integrate reclaimed materials that would deliver both authenticity and structural integrity.

Our Approach Included:

  • Selecting reclaimed hand-hewn beams over 200 years old
  • Designing custom timber trusses and structural systems
  • Balancing old-world materials with modern engineering techniques
  • Ensuring every element contributed to a cohesive architectural vision

What We Did

To bring the vision to life, we:

Fabricated custom timber trusses using reclaimed beams Integrated barnwood and aged materials throughout the structure Created a unified timber grid system for both structure and design Delivered prefabricated components for precision and efficiency

The Result

The final result is a custom mountain cabin that seamlessly merges historic character with modern craftsmanship.

Authentic, timeworn materials create immediate warmth and depth Structural elements double as architectural focal points The home blends naturally into its alpine surroundings A timeless retreat built to last for generations
